Please HELP me solve my IE3 formatting problem

Monday, November 30th, 2009

[Reposted]

Hi.

Can anyone help with an example site (it only has a chat room that is in
operation) I put together.

I was creating it on my native system and testing the site with Ibrowse and it
rendered perfect every time.

When it came to testing it on the Mac, Netscape also rendered the display how I
wanted it.  When I try the page on IE 3 and 4 on the Mac (and PC it would seem)
I’m getting layout problems of the header and navigation area.

I have hacked with my code and I can make it display better with IE but then I
need two versions.  I’m also not too sure if I have done everything in an HTML
legal way.

Can anyone help me by telling me what I’m doing wrong with my HTML ?

The site is:

Thanks for any help in advance.

Current version of QuestAgent uses index files generated by SWISH
software. SWISH is very popular software for indexing collections of
web pages or other text files. It’s free. It can be found at

Security Issues When Installing and Customizing Pre-Build Web Scripts

Security Issues When Installing and Customizing
 Pre-Build Web Scripts

By Selena Sol

 http://Stars.com/Authoring/Scripting/Security/

CGI scripts are as dangerous as they are useful. This is not to
say that you should not use them. Computer security is a give
and take situation. You can never be safe so long as you offer
services. However, without offering services you may as well
not have the computer in the first place. Thus, security
becomes more about acceptable risk and emergency recovery than
impregnability. It is your job to make sure that the cons of
a break in have far less impact than the pros of having a web site.
Selena discusses the fundamental concerns of security when
installing and customizing pre-built CGI scripts,
and gives pointers to further information.

how to get articles on your site

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Hi,

I’m going to make a web site for a magazine and they want to put some
of their articles on the site. All they have is Word-files.

I don’t know much about databases.
How do you get articles in a (Access) database ?  Articles are plain
text and a database works with fields.

Once I have them in a database, it shouldn’t be no problem to get them
on the site.

I’d appreciate some hints especially if you have made a site like
this.

E-mail program

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Hi everybody, I was wondering how I would go about sending e-mail
automatically without using cgi.  I heard it could be done in either
Javascript or VBScript.  Does anyone know how?  What needs to be done is
have the script set the message, subject, to and from and then
automatically send when the user clicks on a button without letting the
user know that the e-mail is being sent (i.e. the form popping up).
Thanks in advance and please e-mail me personally with any suggestions.
