Shopping cart working with MS Access Database

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Does anyone know where I can get an e-commerce program or CGI script that
will enable me to set up a shopping cart that will work in conjunction with
an Microsoft Access database?

attachments and forms

Friday, February 26th, 2010

I am currently building a web site that will have several forms in it. I
have constructioned the sample forms that I need, but I have come across a
small problem that has me stumped me.

Is it possible to design a form within a web site that upon submission sends
itself as an attachment to an email, instead of just a plain text email. I
know I could send the form as a straight email using the "METHOD=POST"
command. The purpose of my site is to allow people to fill in forms and send
them to me as part of an online store. I intend to use Euroda Pro to handle
to incoming emails. Euroda Pro allows emails with attachments to be saved
into separate directories, i.e that is why I would like the incoming emails
to have attachments so they can be processed by my database programme
automatically, however, when I looked into the problem I realised that a
returned form only seems to arrive as a email, instead of an email plus an
attachment.

I hope there you can help me, otherwise I will have to re-think how to do
this part of the web site.

Thankyou

Andrew

FP 98' & Netscape

Friday, February 26th, 2010

Although I am not normally a Microsoft basher, I feel that installing
components into frountpage that only IE could use was pretty
self-serving of Microsoft. My question is : what are the features of
Frountpage 98′ that Netscape can’t use so that I will not waste my time
including them into any web stuff I make? I use Netscape myself and want
to see it all myself.Thanks

We're extending the limits of HTML Forms, JavaScript, Dynamic HTML,

Friday, February 26th, 2010

We’re extending the limits of HTML Forms, JavaScript, Dynamic HTML,
catalogs and Java with Natural Language Processing (NLP). We’re building
a smart edit field that understands English questions.

If you’re spending too much time, money or adding too many GUI controls
in an attempt to direct people to relevant information, then we may be
able to help.

Our tool kit converts existing information so questions can be asked of
a web page or site. If you’re interested in seeing what NLP can do,
please email a list of web pages that contain:
1) the input web page (usually a form) and
2) the output web page (usually contains a table listing search
results).

Especially helpful are web pages with information organized in a
hierarchical fashion.

We’ll post the converted results on our server. We’re testing our
conversion tool kit.

Thanks,
Mike LeRoy

HELP! javascript mouseover & page coordinates?!?!?

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Okay, me again. Is there a way to determine with javascript where a link is on
page? i.e. actual x, y coordinates? I would like to simulate pop-up menus with
layers– click on the link, the layer with a short discription appears right
below the link word. I can do the layers hide  and reveal, but the rest of the
it alludes me…
HELP!

Lori

Streaming Technology

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Hi there,
I’ve followed this NG for a while now, and I have a question I’d like to
address to the group. I work as a Internet Developer for a small company
(http://www.fountainworks.com) and we are looking to expand our services.
I’ve been appointed in setting up a streaming video/audio service for the
company. The two best technologies I’ve found are RealNetworks
(http://www.real.com) and Emblaze (http://www.emblaze.com)
We host several web sites off our T1, and we’re currently in the process
of expanding the number of servers so there would be room for the new
program. I was wondering if some of the readers of this newsgroup could
offer any advice/anecdotes/experiences they’ve had
installing/running/maintaining streaming technologies. I have to come up
with the pitch soon, and I’m favouring RealNetworks (primarily for their
support of the upcoming SMIL format) any information would be greatly
appreciated. I’m looking at such issues as :
how difficult was the installation?
what made you decide on one technology over another?
what sort of feedback have you received?
does it clog the line?

Thanks in advance,
Eric Maag
